Health and Safety Reform Bill – Concerns expressed

FMC has expressed concern to several government ministers and select committee members regarding the Health and Safety Reform Bill which threatens to impose a regulatory burden on volunteer organisations and provide an opportunity for concessionaires and contractors to deny public access to “workplaces” they control.
By removing the clear exception that makes landowners only responsible for the safety of recreationalists in a broad sense, the Bill threatens to breakdown the fabric of some of outdoor communities, particularly the good relationships between recreationalists and farmers.
