Further Funding for Consortium

In a big vote of confidence the Outdoor Recreation Consortium was recently granted its 3rd year of funding, another $400,000 will go to backcountry projects led by volunteers, bringing the total to $1.6 million.
The DOC Community Fund is predicated on encouraging transformational step-change in how conservation and recreation outcomes are achieved.
The Outdoor Recreation Consortium is recognised as achiving this, not just through the excellent work being done on the ground, but through the spirit of collaboration between people who tramp, hunt, kayak, climb, fish, ride moutain bikes or horses, drive 4WDs and work in the Backcountry. The Backcountry is our shared heritage, and its future is looking bright.
