FMC opposes proposed accommodation complex in Fiordland National Park

The Department of Conservation has publicly notified an application by Path New Zealand Limited for a lease and licence to build and operate a commercial accommodation complex in Fiordland National Park.
A news article was also published on Stuff today.
FMC will be submitting against the application. We believe that this type of commercial development is totally inappropriate within the boundaries of a National Park.
Forest & Bird are also opposing the proposed development, and have launched a campaign against the privatization of national parks.
Submissions close 20 July 2018
We encourage anyone concerned about the proposal to send a submission, too. Detailed information on the proposal, and a submission form, can be found here.
