Nominations for the 2024 FMC Executive are open

It is that time of the year again when we ask all our member clubs to think about nominating a member of their club to join the FMC Executive Board. It is a stimulating body to work with, bringing together people from around Aotearoa New Zealand and dealing with a wide range of outdoor recreation and conservation land-related issues.
Likewise, if you are passionate about outdoor recreation and you support the work we do, if you have time and skills you’d like to contribute – especially in policy, planning, law, or administration – FMC would love to have you on board.
To learn a bit more about what the members of the FMC Executive Board do, and what being on the executive means, take a look at our FAQs for prospective Executive Board members.
If this sounds like your thing, get a member club to nominate you!
Please submit your nominations using the nominations form. All nominations should be received by an e-mail by the end of the day on Wednesday 10 April 2024.
For any further questions, please contact Stu Gray: stu.gray@fmc.org.nz
Current FMC executive members are also happy to answer questions you may have. Their contact details can be found on our website.

We’re excited to share the new FMC Executive Committee, taking office on June 1 2026.
For over ten years, FMC has been involved in efforts to protect the Waitaha River. FMC made its first submission opposing the scheme in 2016, celebrated it being declined in 2019, and has spent the past 12 months fighting for a voice through the Fast-Track process. Throughout it all, FMC has been advocating for the Waitaha, publicly and behind the scenes.
FMC has submitted on a proposed land exchange that would see 29.7 hectares of conservation land in the eastern Ruahine Forest Park swapped for 170 hectares of private land, to enable the construction of a dam and reservoir on the Makaroro River.
