Glenfalloch Tenure Review

Glenfalloch station sits between the Rakaia and Ashburton catchments, up above Lake Heron. It may prove in the future to be an integral part of an extended Hakatere Conservation Park, and is an important part of the O Tu Wharekai catchment (in the photo in this link you look across Lake Heron to the mountains of Glenfalloch station.
LINZ has put forward a preliminary proposal regarding the tenure review to the lessee, at which point the public have an opportunity to submit. FMC’s submission begins by out-lining the hierarchy of objects in the Crown Pastoral Land Act. The need for ecologically sustainable management, and the protection of ‘significant inherent values’.
