Pelorus Bridge Recreation Reserve

FMC has requested amendments to a proposal by DOC to grant a 20 year licence to an existing dairy farmer on Pelorus Bridge Recreation Reserve.
This Recreation Reserve has too much recreational and ecological potential, given its location next to a popular visitor site and pristine lowland forest remnant, to remain in dairying for the long term.
FMC has requested that the term of the licence is shortened to 10 years and that further riverside land, including part of the Te Araroa trail, is put aside for regeneration.
