Megan Dimozantos

Megan’s deep knowledge of the backcountry and its management brings valuable insight to FMC’s work. Her strong relationships with DOC, iwi, and other key organisations ensure FMC stays well connected. With a background in leadership and change management, she brings a grounded, strategic perspective and a strong commitment to protect our backcountry.

Tony Walton

Auckland
Tony represents the top of the North Island, with special interest in Auckland’s regional parks. He has led work on refreshing FMC’s Constitution, several key submissions, and keeps a close eye on all things membership related.

Emma Gregg

With a curious and practical approach, Emma is a highly valued member of the Committee. She’s well connected with local clubs and on-the-ground groups such as hunters, trappers, and backcountry volunteer groups such as Greater Wellington Backcountry Network. She has been heavily involved in the most recent Love our Huts campaign.

If you are passionate about the outdoors, have relevant skills in planning and policy, law, governance, finance, communications or administration and would like to actively support our work by joining the FMC Executive Committee, contact one of our current members for a chat. Every two years in March, we invite applications from FMC member clubs and individual supporters.

Our staff
We employ a small team of part-time staff who support the Executive Committee and contribute to the organisation’s ability to function under a largely volunteer model.

Rebecca Gray

Rebecca keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a deep well of institutional knowledge and an eye for detail, she’s the go-to person for all things administrative and membership-related. Her favourite weekends are spent tramping in the hills and finding new adventures with her family.

Masha makes sure our voice is heard, helping us share our work and views in ways that engage both our members and the wider public. In the backcountry, you’ll find her snacking on peanut butter pretzels and observing her favourite bird, the tītipounamu.
