FMC’s 90th anniversary celebration
Taonga Lands and Waters: Conservation and Recreation for the Future
7pm Friday 29 October – noon Sunday 31 October 2021
The Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand warmly invite you to celebrate our 90th anniversary, with a weekend of activities, presentations and debates in Queenstown.
Our event is the weekend after Labour weekend, so it’s the perfect opportunity to take some leave, go on an adventure down south, and then join us for our celebration!
During Friday and Saturday evenings, join us for Taonga Lands and Waters: Conservation and Recreation for the Future. Experts in conservation law, natural science, recreation, Te Ao Māori, and wild rivers will present and debate. Politicians will give their views on what’s needed in conservation legislation. Leading lights of the outdoor community will discuss sustainable recreation and the potential of outdoor education.
Prior to the evening’s activities, local FMC clubs will be organising day and half-day outdoor activities in the Queenstown area – chances to get together with like-minded folk from around New Zealand whilst enjoying Queenstown’s backyard and discussing the future of conservation and recreation.
Register now online. The $40 registration fee includes a buffet dinner on the Saturday evening. Only members of FMC affiliated clubs and paid up FMC Individual Supporters are eligible to attend.
